Hao arrives in a small town with a busy plan. He wants to visit a tower, two museums, and a market before dinner. At the station, he asks a local shopkeeper which place he should visit first.
The shopkeeper looks at his list and smiles. "You can do all that," she says, "but you will spend a lot of time watching the clock. Why not choose one museum and walk along the river afterwards?" Hao thinks for a moment.
He follows her advice. After the museum, he walks slowly beside the water. He notices painted doors, a sleeping cat, and a man fixing a bicycle. He buys bread and sits on a bench without checking the time.
Hao never reaches the tower that day. Still, he does not feel disappointed. His photos show small things he really remembers. Next time, he may visit the tower, but he will leave some empty space in his plan again.
