In this invented exercise, a reading club tests shorter meetings for one month. Nine members attend the trial discussion afterwards; seven say the new length fits their schedules better. These are fictional classroom details, not research findings. Your task is to recommend the club's next step without turning a small local response into a universal rule.
“The feedback gives us a reason to continue shorter meetings for another month. Seven of the nine members who joined the review preferred the new length, mainly because it was easier to fit around work. This supports a limited extension for this group. It does not establish that shorter meetings improve reading ability, which we did not measure.”
The useful step is the connection between the evidence and the recommendation. A preference about scheduling can support a scheduling decision. It cannot, on its own, support a claim about learning progress. Ask what the information actually measures, who supplied it, and whose experience is missing from the account.
Add a practical qualification: “Before making the change permanent, we should ask members who missed the review and check whether discussion feels rushed.” Words such as suggests, may, and for this group are useful when they match a real limit. They should clarify uncertainty rather than make an unsupported claim sound scientific.
suggests、may、for this group
This supports…; it does not establish…
This supports another trial; it does not establish a general rule.
who joined the review
Seven of the nine members who joined the review preferred the change.

The claim needs evidence that addresses the same question.
- extension
We recommend a one-month extension of the trial.
- establish
Preference data cannot establish an improvement in skill.
- qualification
The recommendation includes an important qualification.
- permanent
We have not agreed to a permanent change.
