同一句中文,可能完成不同任务
After a classmate finishes a presentation, Rui wants to say something encouraging. In Chinese, she might say a short phrase that recognises the effort. Instead of matching every word, she chooses a message for this moment: 'Thanks for putting so much work into the slides. The examples were really clear.'
同学完成展示后,小瑞想说些鼓励的话。中文里,她可能用一句简短的话肯定对方的辛苦。她没有逐字找对应词,而是按这个场景表达:谢谢你为幻灯片付出这么多心力,例子讲得很清楚。
能听懂与更准确是两件事
The sentence 'You worked hard' is grammatical and can be kind. It is not automatically wrong because it resembles a Chinese expression. However, it may describe effort without clearly thanking someone. If gratitude is the goal, adding thanks and a specific contribution makes the intention easier to understand.
You worked hard 语法正确,也可以表达善意。不能因为它接近某种中文说法就直接判错。不过,它可能只描述付出,没有明确感谢。如果目的是致谢,补上 thanks 和具体贡献,会让意图更清楚。
把含糊的客气话变成可执行消息
Rui then asks for the final file. 'Send it when convenient' is understandable, but the missing deadline could create a practical problem. She writes, 'Could you send the final slides by Thursday afternoon? Please let me know if that timing is difficult.' The request remains polite while giving useful information.
接着,小瑞索要最终文件。Send it when convenient 能被理解,但没写截止时间可能造成实际问题。她改为:能在周四下午前发来最终幻灯片吗?如果这个时间有困难,请告诉我。请求仍然礼貌,也提供了有用信息。
只改需要改的地方
In her closing line, Rui writes, 'I look forward to hear from you.' This one needs a grammatical change: after look forward to, use a noun or an ing form, such as hearing. She checks meaning, grammar and tone separately. A clear, respectful message does not need impressive vocabulary or one perfect translation.
结尾处,小瑞写了 I look forward to hear from you。这一句确实需要修改语法:look forward to 后接名词或 ing 形式,例如 hearing。她把意思、语法和语气分开检查。清楚而尊重对方的消息,不需要炫目的词汇,也不只有一种完美译法。
不是‘像中文’就错
You worked hard 可以正常描述和肯定付出。想表达感谢时,可以加 Thanks for...;想关心状态时,可以问 Would you like a break?。表达应跟着意图和关系变化,不把可理解的句子羞辱成所谓‘中国式错误’。
Thanks for checking the details. That helped us a lot.
谢谢你核对细节,这帮了我们很大忙。
纠错与润色分开
I look forward to hear... 中 hear 应改 hearing,因为这里 to 是介词。Send it when convenient 则可能语法上成立,改写是为了补充时间和缓和语气,而不是说它一律错误。
I look forward to hearing your ideas. Could you send them by Friday?
我期待听听你的想法。你能在周五前发来吗?
